This classic Star Trek episode called, “Arena”, serves up some big clues about what the fuck on earth is happening.
In this episode of the original Star Trek TV series, the Enterprise pursues an alien ship of previously unknown design after it had attacked an Earth colony.
A powerful race known as the Metrons force the captains of both ships to fight to the death, to settle the dispute.
My allegorical take on it is this: Kirk represents all “good” sentient beings in the universe (not perfect, but good … humans, angels, aliens, etc…), the Gorn represents all “evil” sentient beings in the universe (humans, demons, artificial intelligence X, etc…), and the Metrons represent Originator-Creator-Oversoul and/or Co-Creator-Oversoul(s).
To end their conflict quickly & easily, the Metrons would destroy the losing ship and crew, as decided by a fight to the death between Kirk and the Gorn captain. The Gorn was too physically strong, so Kirk had to use his intuitive intelligence, to create a primitive “gun” to assist in winning the contest. Kirk won, offered mercy to his enemies, but the Metrons were still willing to destroy the evildoers, nonetheless.
Nag Hammadi book called Authoritative Discourse, on the “contest” between humans and the Gorn!
The Father Establishes a Contest in the World (25, 27–26, end or 27, beginning)
“Before anything was, the Father alone existed, before the worlds in the heavens appeared, or the world on earth, or principalities or authorities or powers [26]......appeared……and [they produced others].
Nothing came to be without the Father’s will.
The Father wished to reveal his [wealth] and his glory, and so he established a great contest in this world. He wanted to make the contestants come up and leave behind what is of the created world, and despise these things with exalted, incomprehensible knowledge, and run to the one who is. We are to be triumphant over the ignorance of those who contend with us, the adversaries who contend against us, through our knowledge, for we already have known the inscrutable one from whom we have come. We have nothing in this world, or else the world’s authority that came to be might hold us back in the worlds of the heavens……
The forces allied against us seem so strong! But they are already defeated; this is knowledge the other side desperately doesn’t want humanity to know about the contest. I AM one “Kirk” who has changed my “vote” among the other “Kirks”.
For 2000 years, we have attempted talks with the Gorn in good faith, but they simply do not seem capable, nor desirous, of the same courtesy. It seems they want to be destroyed. So be it. That is the “Metrons” job, and I say let them do their job.
…… I am not talking about anything likely to happen in this physical life of flesh and blood, in case metaphor talk is not something you are used to ……
Another perspective on the “alien” contest:
I understand the skepticism regarding defeating the “Gorn” (such as demonstrated in the below video); people naturally & logically think that mere humans must somehow become more powerful than the “aliens”, in both knowledge & applied technologies.
It is really only necessary for Kirk to call in his agreement with the Metrons to destroy the Gorn; that is their job and they are quite capable.
“Do you think I cannot call on my Father (ie symbolically the ‘Metrons’), and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels (ie to destroy the Gorn)?” (Matthew 26:53, NIV)
But you must first embody your Kirk, defeat your Gorn, and then call in the Metrons. Time to correct a 2000 year old mistake. Nuf said.
