Since I mention Star Trek so often in my writing, I thought I’d do a post that collates all Star Trek references in one spot.
The posts below are NOT always entirely dedicated to Star Trek, but will reference Star Trek at least once.
Note: other than the prequel series “Star Trek: Enterprise”, I’ve watched all the other episodes referenced in the above video MANY times!
I figured that similarly fascinated Star Trek fans might like to have easy access to all my Star Trek referencing posts in one spot.
Here they are, in no particular order:
The parable of, "Corbomite maneuvering the government"
In the entry video, we learn that Commander Balok has a massive killing machine at his disposal, identified as his ship the Fesarius. Commander Balok represents ALL government order givers, who command their order followers to kill peaceful people, such as the Enterprise crew.
The parable of, "The Gorn conspiracy"
This classic Star Trek episode called, “Arena”, serves up some big clues about what the fuck on earth is happening.
The parable of the "elite" have no idea of who they're fucking with
Two thousand years ago, a man who would be King of the earth, incarnated into human form, by the will of the Originator-Creator-Oversoul (OCO). This would-be King had to experience the theology of suffering personally to become the compassionate King that OCO wanted.
The parable of "The Game"
Star Trek: The Next Generation episode called “The Game” is about the Enterprise crew becoming addicted to a virtual reality-type headset that BOTH addicts the crew members AND mind controls them. An alien from the Ktarian race intentionally hatched this plot to subjugate the Federation. Brief clip below:
The parable of Starfleet captains need help too
Summary: In the Star Trek Generations movie, Captain Jean-Luc Picard investigates a massacre at a science outpost. The only survivor is Dr. Soran (Malcolm McDowall), who perpetrated the event to cover up his invention: a missile he launches into a nearby sun, exploding it. As Soran escapes with Klingon cronies, Picard learns that Soran's plan is to summ…
The parable of, "The value of a good 'Father'"
In the entry video, Captain Janeway from Star Trek Voyager was being tempted by her “father” to go to the light, after she had died on a planet. I decided to create this post after Sonja and I briefly discussed this Star Trek episode. Clip below.
As we end the Star Trek section, the below video helps remind me that the actors are people too.
Superheros of various sorts: special mention now to other fictional characters that appeal to me as parable-metaphor teachers of truth

This plague eventually caused victims to develop fatal brain tumors, eventuating in a downward spiral into severe mental problems, violent behavior, insanity, and then death.
The parable of, "The trapped batteries"
A married couple, named “Dennis & Sophia Luminosity”, were computer programmers, who were working on developing virtual reality games. Dennis and Sophia’s friends and family nick-named them both “the Batteries”, because they had so much enthusiasm-energy that transferred to people around them. People felt like they were given an extra “battery charge”…
Wow lots of material
For a true Trekkie
Which would you recommend
To me?
All of the classic episodes, next gen, deep space 9, and voyager. The others I couldn't get into, as perception shifts with age. But for specific episodes, those in the list above would be a good place to start. :-)
