Since this belongs in "personal podcasts—subsection Dennis and friends", as well as “truman-atrix”, I decided to cross-post it into this section. My readers can find this article in both sections.
I haven’t looked into or given much thought to simulation theory. I think there are things about reality that could support some kind of mathematical construct or simulation and I have definitely had experiences that I can’t explain which make me think we could be in some kind of simulation. I think for me the question is: is it a simulation created by a hostile force, or is it a simulation of our own making in order for consciousness to experience itself, which has been hijacked by a hostile force?
My perspective is that I choose not to attach too firmly to this theory and as you say there are many possibilities but I think it is essential to keep an open mind. I do wonder though how do we know it’s not a theory that is being put out into the collective consciousness or projected into our minds by the powers that shouldn’t be? I personally feel very connected to the Earth and nature and it is very real to me. Not just because I can see it, but because I do feel a deep connection to it – a heart connection as though I am one with it. So, how do we know the theory telling us that reality is an illusion isn't itself part of the illusion?
I wonder if it’s a kind of predictive programming by promoting this idea that we are already in a simulation, while ‘they’ build an actual digital simulation which a majority will just sleepwalk into because they are already unconsciously locked into this digital world through social media, virtual reality and AI all of which have influenced humanity’s perception of reality. Nobody seems to know anymore what is real and what isn’t?
As an example, I have a friend whose son plays a truck simulator game where he drives a truck through Europe. He is just old enough now to apply for his NZ driver licence, and he actually stated that he is going to have to get used to driving on the left side of the road (here in NZ we drive on the left, not the right). He also said he doesn’t need to practice parallel parking because he already knows how to do it. Of course, simulators can genuinely teach us things, so perhaps he has learned some useful skills from the game. But it did make me wonder about how easily we can begin to conflate simulated experience with real-world experience, and where that line actually sits.
I had a vision a few years ago that there was some sort of grid put in place by the controllers that was influencing us and our perspective of reality and in this vision, there were people placed strategically all around the world that were working to take down this grid through expanding their consciousness. Interestingly, I’ve come across two other people who have had a very similar vision.
I think if I am ‘all things and no-thing,’ meaning I am a fragment of a greater consciousness here on Earth to evolve and expand my consciousness in human form, to help free humanity, then we could say that it is a simulation created by that consciousness in order to execute that mission.
Whatever it is that we’re in, I can say that my inner world feels way more real to me than the external world. I go out into the ‘matrix’ and sometimes I’m completely dumbfounded by what I observe and can hardly believe it is real. It actually does feel more so like an illusion compared to my own inner experience.
I also think these concepts are quite difficult to understand with the mind alone. I truly believe this is the sort of thing we need to go within ourselves to find the answers to.
